Veterans and other volunteers will work at the Second Harvest Heartland food shelf Tuesday to remember the 9/11 terror attacks.

The Mission Continues, a national nonprofit organization for post-9/11 veterans, is coordinating the day of service, as part of the 9/11 Day Observance movement that observe Sept. 11 as a day of charitable service and doing good deeds.

More than 200 are expected at Second Harvest Heartland to sort, package and label food donations for low-income and homeless people.

Similar projects are being held in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Dallas/Fort Worth and Washington, D.C.
