Joy Bartscher will be a new District Court judge in Ramsey County, Gov. Mark Dayton announced Monday.
She replaces Judge Dale Lindman, who retired earlier this year.
Bartscher currently is an associate attorney at Rogosheske, Sieben & Atkins who handles criminal defense, personal injury, family and other general-practice matters.
Previously, she’d been executive director of the Neighborhood Justice Center.
She speaks Spanish and has been an interpreter with the U.S. Department of Justice, has trained numerous interpreters and was a member of the Supreme Court Interpreter Advisory Committee.
