JoAnne Zoff to be new secretary of the state Senate

In the nonpartisan position, she’ll oversee Senate offices and handle parliamentary duties on the floor.

The new DFL Senate majority will nominate JoAnne Zoff to be Secretary of the Senate, where she’ll oversee nonpartisan offices and handle parliamentary duties on the Senate floor.

It’s a nonpartisan position, appointed by the majority. She’ll replace Cal Ludeman, who’s been the Republican’s guy for the past two sessions while the GOP was in the majority.

Zoff, who had retired last year as director of the state Senate Counsel, Research and Fiscal Analysis Department, had served as co-secretary of the Senate in 2009 when the DFL had the majority.
