Kriesel-for-governor tweet circulates over the weekend

The war veteran, who is stepping down as a state representative, gets a digital shout-out for 2014.

Over the long holiday weekend a  tweet was circulated showing a logo for a (so-far) imaginary John Kriesel gubernatorial campaign in 2014.

Blois Olson mentions in his newsletter that state Rep. Pat Garofalo, a Republican from Farmington, sent the Tweet with the note: “Sshhh…you didn’t get this from me.”

Kriesel, a wounded war veteran who vocally opposed the marriage amendment and was at times too moderate for his fellow Republicans in the Legislature, didn’t seek reelection after one term, and now works for Anoka County.

No word from Kriesel on the underground campaign, but it looks like he’ll do a spot on a Tom Barnard podcast some time this week.
