State flags at half-staff through Tuesday to honor Newtown shooting victims

Gov. Dayton orders the flag-lowering after denouncing the fatal shooting of 20 children and six staff members at the Connecticut elementary school.

Flags on all state buildings will remain at half-staff through Tuesday to honor the victims of the fatal school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

Gov. Mark Dayton issued the proclamation Friday, after he made a statement denouncing the “dastardly, cold-blooded murder of innocent children and their educators.”
