State Patrol to target Nisswa highway during ice fishing contest

They’ll be focusing on Hwy. 371 before and after the $150,000 ice fishing contest on Gull Lake.

State Patrol officials say they’ll have extra officers on DWI enforcement duty Sunday for the $150,000 ice fishing contest on Gull Lake.

They’re paying overtime to have more officers in the area for the 23rd annual Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza, held at Gull Lake’s Hole-in-the-Day Bay.

State Patrol Lt. Joe Dwyer said in a news release:

“This area has been selected as the primary enforcement zone due to the anticipated influx of motorists traveling to and from the area for the event.”
