The Commission on Judicial Selection has recommended three candidates to fill a judgeship in Ramsey County vacated by the retirement of Judge J. Thomas Mott.

Gov. Mark Dayton will now interview the candidates, who are:

  • Jeffrey Bryan, an assistant U.S. attorney and formerly an attorney specializing in complex civil litigation with Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi.
  • Thomas Gilligan, a trial lawyer with the law firm of Murnane Brandt and a former adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas Law School.
  • Jessica McConaughey, a supervising attorney in the Criminal Division of the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office and lead prosecutor for the Ramsey County DWI Court Program.

An appointment is expected in the next few weeks.
