CenterPoint Energy says it will buy the former Neiman Marcus building on the Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis.
Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal says the building, owned by United Properties, has been empty since Neiman Marcus moved out earlier this year.
Terms of the deal, which hasn’t closed, haven’t been disclosed.
The Journal says CenterPoint already has about 350 workers in the LaSalle building, doing administrative, sales, marketing, call center and IT work. The Journal reported last month that the utility was looking for about 100,000 square feet of downtown office space.
The Neiman Marcus building is about 100,000 square feet.
