The Webber Park Library in North Minneapolis is closed after ceiling tiles fell to the floor recently.

Hennepin County officials said Friday that the library, at 4310 Webber Parkway, will be closed “while structural engineers complete their review of what caused ceiling tiles to buckle and fall to the floor last week while the library was occupied by staff and patrons.”

Preliminary findings show settling along one of the building’s walls.

The building opened in its current location in 1980.

While Webber Park Library is closed, officials suggest using nearby libraries, including North Regional, SumnerNortheastRockford Road and Brookdale or any Hennepin County Library location.

Book requests that had been routed to Webber Park Library will automatically be rerouted to North Regional, but can be changed via online accounts.
