Canadian consul general talks Tuesday in Hibbing about trade and business

Trade and business between Canada and Minnesota will be discussed Tuesday at a roundtable discussion in Hibbing.

Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) Commissioner Tony Sertich and Jamshed Merchant, the consul general of Canada, will be on the lunchtime panel at Hibbing Community College.

Organizers say the goal is to learn more about the strong trading relationship between northeastern Minnesota and Canada, as well as future business opportunities.

Merchant’s role as the top Canadian diplomat for the Upper Midwest region of the United States is to educate business leaders and facilitate business connections between Canada and U.S. states.
