Gov. Mark Dayton has appointed James Hamilton to the Metropolitan Airports Commission representing the St. Paul area.
Hamilton, an attorney with Hamilton Quigley and Twait in St Paul, replaces John McClung, who’d been appointed in 2010 by Gov. Tim Pawlenty. McClung, a retired business executive and pilot, is the father of Brian McClung, who’d been Pawlenty’s longtime press secretary.
Dayton also reappointed three other MAC board members:
- Steve Cramer of Minneapolis
- James Deal of Ramsey
- Lisa Lebedoff Peilen of St. Louis Park
The governor appoints the chairman and 12 of the 14 commissioners to staggered terms. The mayor of St. Paul also appoints one member, as does the Minneapolis mayor.
The commission owns and operates the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and six smaller general-aviation airports within the metro area.
