State Sen. Terri Bonoff will visit 18 Minnesota colleges and universities this month to hear from students and others about ways to improve the state’s higher education systems.
Bonoff is chair of the Minnesota Senate Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee. The “listening tour” begins next week with stops Sept. 10 at Mesabi Community College & Technical College and Vermillion Community College.
Bonoff says she’s the mom of four recent college graduates, the most recent this year, and has “seen first-hand the transformative power of a post-secondary education.”
She’s also taking improvement ideas in an online survey.
“Each and every young person in Minnesota should have the opportunity to learn at this high level regardless of their socioeconomic background, and without the crushing debt and joblessness that comes with it today,” she said.
