Volunteers sought to count bicycle and pedestrian traffic in Twin Cities

Volunteers are needed to count bicyclists and pedestrians on certain Minneapolis and St. Paul streets and trails this month.

The Bike Walk Twin Cities annual count will be Sept. 10-12 and Sept. 17-19 in 47 area locations. Times are 4 to6 p.m.

They say help is especially needed on Sept. 10.

Volunteers can sign up for shifts online. There are short training sessions for new counters.

Organizers say the annual counts have shown a 51 percent increase in bicycling and a 24 increase increase in walking since they began in 2007.For more information,  contact  prescottm@tlcminnesota.org or 651-789-1404.
