Jesse Ventura to appear at Saturday Twin Cities Book Festival

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura is one of the featured authors at Saturday’s Twin Cities Book Festival, to be held at the State Fairgrounds.

Ventura is scheduled to appear in the festival’s “Local Lit Lounge” at noon to talk about his latest book: “They Killed Our President: 63 Reasons to Believe There Was a Conspiracy to Assassinate JFK.”

The book, which lists three other co-authors, was published Oct. 1. It’s available in hardcover or an e-book edition.

The book fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Progress Center and Fine Arts buildings on the fairgrounds in Falcon Heights.

Since his single term as governor (1999-2003), Ventura has been very involved with conspiracy theory books and television shows. He maintains a home in Minnesota but spends the winters in Mexico.

Ventura was also in the news this week after he started an online petition to urge Washington leaders to end the shutdown.

He says on the petition:

“If these elected officials want to keep their jobs, we must petition our government to make them actually do their jobs, or else vote them out of office immediately. Remember: they work for us. It’s time they remember that.”
