Gov. Mark Dayton is in Fergus Falls Friday for the annual Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener but won’t hunt on Saturday.
The deer opener is held in a different city each year as a tourism booster.
Dayton underwent a medical procedure at the Mayo Clinic in late October to help speed the healing of an ailing hip and had been largely housebound until this week.
He will attend a kick-off lunch at the Otter Tail County Fairgrounds in Fergus Falls Friday but returns to Minneapolis tonight to speak at a TakeAction Minnesota awards event.
