Keith Warner, who is stepping down as executive director of the Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corp., will be honored Sunday by business colleagues and those he has helped deal with cancer.

Warner, 77, is a retired business executive who has survived four previous cancer outbreaks but was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. He’s undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

In addition to his work with the Vadnais Heights business organization, he and his wife, Patty, organized White Bear Lake’s Relay for Life cancer fundraiser 18 years ago and have helped many area families deal with cancer diagnoses.

Last spring he received the 2013 J. Stanley and Doris Hill Legacy Award for his community service.

Sunday’s event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at Jimmy’s Food and Drink, 1132 County Road E, Vadnais Heights.
