State Sen. Dave Thompson, one of many Republicans seeking the party endorsement to run against Gov. Mark Dayton, has selected state Sen. Michelle Benson as his running mate.
On his Facebook page, Thompson says: “I’d like to introduce all of you to my new running mate, and the next Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota: Senator Michelle Benson!”
Thompson, first elected in 2010, is from Lakeville; Benson, also first elected in 2010, is from Ham Lake.
