Gov. Dayton in D.C. for governors’ meeting with President Obama

The governor sits on the  National Governors Association’s executive committee, which meets with the president at 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Tuesday.

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton is in Washington, D.C., Tuesday for a meeting of the National Governors Association’s executive committee.

The group is scheduled to meet in the Roosevelt Room with President Obama at 3:30 p.m. E.T.

That’s immediately after the president meets the 2013 NBA champion Miami Heat team in the East Room.

Neither the governor nor the White House released the topic of the governors’ meeting.

Dayton and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker are on the executive committee with these governors:

  • Gov. Mary Fallin, Oklahoma, chair
  • Gov. John Hickenlooper, Colorado, vice chair
  • Gov. Mike Beebe, Arkansas
  • Gov. Jack Markell, Delaware
  • Gov. Terry Branstad, Iowa
