Bachmann tours off-shore oil wells in southern Louisiana

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is in southern Louisiana this week, touring off-shore oil production sites in the Gulf of Mexico and discussing energy policy.

Bachmann has long pushed for less regulation on energy production.

She’s part of the 2014 Offshore Energy Tour with Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise. Others on the tour include U.S. Reps. Susan Brooks of Indiana, Mark Sanford of South Carolina and Steve Womack of Arkansas.

Bachmann said of the tour: “Domestic energy production plays a huge role in America’s economic and national security by increasing jobs and growth and decreasing our reliance on foreign energy sources. We need to continue to unleash American energy production, both onshore and offshore

Scalise said the point of the tour is to “… see first-hand the extraordinary process of producing American energy in the Gulf of Mexico, and how these projects create jobs, grow our economy, and increase America’s energy security.”

What, less regulation so we can have even more BP blowouts? I hope Shelly doesn’t mind if I don’t jump for joy at the prospect of yet more pollution.
