Marion Greene was sworn in Wednesday as the new Hennepin County Commissioner from District 3. She also named Ray Hoover as her principal aide.

Greene, of Minneapolis, beat Anne Mavity in a special election earlier this month to take the seat previously held by Gail Dorfman, who resigned to become director of St. Stephen’s Human Services.

Judge Elizabeth Cutter administered the oath of office during a private swearing-in ceremony.

Hoover, the new aide, ran Greene’s election campaign. She’s keeping  two of Dorfman’s aides on staff, Bill Fellman and Pam Fahlstrom.

Greene is a former state representative and has worked in health care finance. The 3rd District includes parts of southwest Minneapolis and St. Louis Park.
