Construction starts on new lanes for I-94, one of Bachmann’s final priorities

After Monday’s groundbreaking for an expansion of I-94 between Rogers and St. Michael, Rep. Michele Bachmann said she was proud to have a part in making it happen as one of her final top priorities in office.

Work on the 10-mile stretch will add an extra lane in both directions, and cost $28.3 million. It should be done by fall of 2015.

Bachmann is not seeking re-election this fall, but said she hopes that the I-94 expansion will continue all the way north to St. Cloud.

She said:

“A little more than a year ago, this project was barely on the radar of statewide leaders. I made it one of my top priorities in my final term as the Representative of the Sixth District and I am proud to have been a part of the effort to ensure lane expansion on I-94. This project will increase mobility, enhance safety, create jobs and keep Minnesotans moving and I look forward to the continued expansion of the vital I-94 corridor all the way to St Cloud.”

She can talk all she wants; no one believes her anymore. I doubt she had any influence in getting this built, nor was it her job as a US Congresswoman.
