James Thalhuber to chair Minnesota State Council on Disability

James Thalhuber, vice president of Development and Marketing at Goodwill/Easter Seals Minnesota, is the new chair of the Minnesota State Council on Disability.

Gov. Mark Dayton recently announced the appointment. Thalhuber, who’d previously been on the council, becomes chair, replacing long-time chair David Schwarzkopf of Rochester, who was reappointed as a council member.

Thalhuber, of Blaine, has been VP at Goodwill/Easter Seals for 10 years and previously worked at Courage Center.

Joan Willshire, the council’s executive director, said Thalhuber’s work with employment of people with disabilities will be an important asset for the council.

The council is a state agency whose mission is to “provide leadership to empower and strengthen the rights of Minnesotans with disabilities.” It provides policy and technical advice to the public and private sectors.
