Campaign season in full bloom as Gov. Dayton and party chairs to appear on Almanac

Gov. Mark Dayton and the chairs of the state’s two major political parties are scheduled to appear tonight on TPT’s public affairs television show Almanac.

The Nov. 4 election is coming into better focus, with just over seven weeks to go, and absentee voting now available.

Dayton will be asked about a couple big political problems that flared this week: MNsure’s biggest insurance company announced it won’t be back on the state’s health exchange, and, of course, the Vikings situation. Dayton was a major supporter of the public subsidy for the billion-dollar Vikings stadium, and publicly called for Adrian Peterson’s benching after the child abuse indictment in Texas.

DFL Chair Ken Martin and GOP Chair Keith Downey will get a chance to push their agendas, too, as the state House is up for grabs this cycle.

The show airs at 7 p.m. on Channel 2 in the Twin Cities, and can be streamed later.
