Gov. Dayton to speak at Veterans Day program in Inver Grove Heights

Gov. Mark Dayton will speak today at the state’s official Veterans Day Program, at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights.

The event began with a community breakfast and continues with the 10 a.m. program. In addition to speakers, the event features a mail station, where people can write cards to be sent to overseas service members, and an Oath of Enlistment Ceremony for new enlistees.

The event is open to the public. Veterans Memorial Community Center is at 8055 Barbara Av. in Inver Grove Heights.

      Is there a law . . . .

      that says you have to have been a veteran to speak at a public function on Veteran’s Day?
