Mukesh Kapila, an international observer and expert on human rights and humanitarian issues, will make appearances Nov. 20 in the Twin Cities.
Kapila, Professor of Global Health and Humanitarian Affairs at the University of Manchester, wrote a book about how he fought against the genocide in Darfur when he was head of the United Nations in Sudan.
Brought to town by the Nonviolent Peaceforce, Kapila is scheduled for these events on Thursday:

- 2:30 p.m., book signing of “Against a Tide of Evil” at the Macalester College’s Weyerhaeuser Memorial Chapter, 1600 Grand Av., St. Paul
- 3 to 4:30 p.m., Speech at Macalester on the genocides in Darfur and Rwanda
- 7 p.m., speech at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Av., Minneapolis, about Against a Tide of Evil: Why does ‘never again’ happen ‘again and again?’
- 8 p.m., book signing at the church
