Hennepin County Judge Robert Small, who will retire from the bench at the end of the year, has been hired as the new executive director of the Minnesota County Attorneys Association.
The association provides training and organization services to county attorneys around the state; Small will succeed John Kingrey, who is retiring after 14 years as head of the group.
Small was first appointed to the Hennepin County judgeship in 2006; he’d previously been an assistant U.S. Attorney. He’s also been a staff attorney for the Veterans Administration.
Small has a sociology degree from the University of St. Thomas and a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.
