Lois Quam, a former UnitedHealth executive who had been a major political contributor when she was married to Minnesota DFL politician Matt Entenza, was remarried last weekend in Washington, D.C.

Blois Olson’s Morning Take noted the marriage announcement, which ran in the New York Times.

Quam married Reuters correspondent Arshad Azizali Mohammed on Saturday. There were two ceremonies: a Muslim ceremony at the groom’s parents’ home, and a service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Washington.

According to the announcement: “Quam is now chief operating officer for the Nature Conservancy, a conservation organization in Arlington, Va. She graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul and received a master’s in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar.”

She talked with the Pioneer Press about her new job with the Nature Conservancy in an interview earlier this year.

Mohammed is based at the State Department in Washington, and covers United States foreign policy for Reuters.

Quam’s ex-husband Entenza was a state legislator and has run unsuccessfully for governor, attorney general and state auditor.
