Reed Kelly, son of ex-St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly, voted off the island on ‘Survivor’

Reed Kelly, a Broadway performer and son of former St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly, was voted off the island on the segment of “Survivor” that aired Wednesday night on CBS.

This version of the show featured loved ones competing against each other. Kelly’s boyfriend, Josh Canfield, had been voted off earlier.

Kelly’s parting words after the the vote were:

This experience has been the most amazing/terrifying experience I think I’ve ever had in my life. This has brought Josh and I even closer, with both being such super nerds about this show. But being able to share this together has been so incredible.

Kelly’s father served one four-year term as St. Paul mayor, from 2001-2005, then lost his bid for re-election. Mayor Kelly was a strong supporter of the arts while in office. Ryan Kelly attended Hill-Murray High School before moving to New York for an acting career.

Reed Kelly and Canfield have both performed on Broadway, with Kelly having had roles in “Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark,” “Wicked” and “The Addams Family.”

The two plan to capitalize on their national TV exposure with a cabaret appearance Jan. 27-28 at New York City’s 54 Below. Their show is called “Josh Canfield and Reed Kelly: From Broadway to Survivor.”
