Minnesota Senate to honor Bill Salisbury and Jim Ragsdale

Salisbury, long-time Pioneer Press Capitol reporter, is retiring, sort of (he’ll work part-time). Ragsdale, who covered the Capitol for the Pioneer and Star Tribune,  died in 2014 at age 64.

The Minnesota Senate on Monday will honor two long-time political journalists — Bill Salisbury and Jim Ragsdale.

Salisbury is retiring, sort of, after 40 years covering the Capitol for the Pioneer Press. He says he’ll still work part-time.

Ragsdale, a veteran of the Pioneer Press and Star Tribune, as well as a frequent Almanac contributor, died in November of pancreatic cancer. He was 64.

Senate officials said they will honor the work of both men with resolutions during Monday’s floor session, which starts at 11 a.m.

After the session, there will be a reception in Room 107 of the Capitol.
