2016 Democratic convention to be in Philly

National Democratic party officials said today that the 2016 National Convention will be held in Philadelphia during the week of July 25, 2016.

Republicans had announced earlier that their convention will be in Cleveland, and will take place a week earlier than the Democrats. Party officials said the Ohio location will give them “an opportunity to win the hearts and minds of Ohioans early.”

On the DNC front, Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said today:

“In addition to their commitment to a seamless and safe convention, Philadelphia’s deep rooted place in American history provides a perfect setting for this special gathering.”

New York City and Columbus, Ohio, were the other DNC finalist cities.

    How fitting. Philadelphia is

    How fitting.

Philadelphia is poised to become a second Detroit, and for the same reason; the public sector is sucking the life out of the private sector.

Great place for the DNC to showcase it’s legacy.
