Afternoon Earth Day party at Target Field Station has music and information

To celebrate Earth Day, Hennepin County is having a celebration with music and information and a display of electric cars this afternoon at the Target Field Station.

The free event at the transit station just outside Target Field, is from 4-6 p.m., and will include the give-away of a backyard compost bin.

The lineup:

  • Live music from Al Church
  • Make your own free, eco-friendly household cleaners with Mississippi Watershed Management Organization
  • Learn about container gardening from Hennepin County Master Gardeners
  • Discover benefits of plug-in electric vehicles through non-profit group PlugIn Connect. Several cars will be on display, including the new Tesla Model S P85D, Tesla Roadster, Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf
  • Food available on site

Organizers promise information on ways “to take action and protect our environment.”
