Five of the six living St. Paul mayors to speak on philanthropy at May 7 forum

The breakfast panel discussion will be at the Saint Paul Hotel, in honor of the St. Paul Foundation’s 75th anniversary.

Five St. Paul mayors — four of the city’s five living former mayors and the current incumbent, Chris Coleman — will appear together at a May 7 breakfast forum to discuss the role of philanthropy in the city’s progress.

The occasion is the 75th anniversary of the St. Paul Foundation.

Seating for the free event is limited and reservations must be made by May 4, by emailing or calling 651.325.4283.

The forum, from 8 – 10 a.m. on May 7, is at the St. Paul Hotel.

Speaking will be:

  • Larry Cohen, mayor from 1972-76
  • George Latimer, 1976-1990
  • Jim Scheibel, 1990-94
  • Norm Coleman, 1994-2002
  • Chris Coleman, 2006-present

Randy Kelly, who was mayor from 2002-06, was invited but declined to participate, organizers said.

Retired MPR journalist Gary Eichton will moderate.
