Presidential candidate and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders — an unrepentant liberal longshot who Eric Black says will put some pressure on Hillary Clinton to stay to the left — is bringing his campaign to Minnesota on Sunday, May 31.
The location for the event has been changed: it had been scheduled for the SEIU Local 26 office but now will be:
The Minneapolis American Indian Center, 1530 East Franklin Av., Minneapolis.
There will be bagels and coffee starting at 9:30 a.m. and a town meeting from 10 a.m. to noon.
The campaign announcement says he’s “coming to Minnesota to discuss how to take our country back from the billionaires.”
Sanders, who has won in Vermont as an independent, is seeking the Democratic nomination for president.
Black is glad to see Sanders in the race:
For those, like me, who crave honest conviction and straight talk (which the pundits have decided to call “authenticity”), Sanders will be a tonic, however long he lasts in the race.
