Ole Savior, the perennial candidate from Minneapolis, is already on the list of those filing to run for president in 2016.

Pioneer Press reporter Rachel Stassen-Berger spotted his name among the 404 people who’ve already filed the 2016 Presidential Form 2 with the Federal Election Commission.

Savior had long been a DFL candidate, running for such posts as governor and Senator, but is registered as a Republican on the federal filing list. He also ran for president as a Republican in 2012, and Doug Grow chatted with him briefly then about his party change:

Savior said that he made the switch following the DFL state convention in 2010, when he was running for governor. He didn’t think he received the respect he deserved at the convention.

“I was at that DFL convention, and I brought them Elvis and Cher and a woman dressed as a chicken,’’ Savior said. “I wanted the chicken to give a speech. She was going to say, ‘Don’t be a chicken, vote for Ole Savior.’ ’’
