Seven Minnesota mayors scheduled to attend conference in San Francisco

Seven Minnesota mayors are scheduled to attend the annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors this weekend in San Francisco.

More than 250 mayors from around the country are expected. Big topics include: “the economic health of the nation’s cities and their metropolitan areas, and the factors that contribute to growth and/or decline.”

Minnesotan mayors on the conference list are:

  • Chris Coleman, St. Paul
  • Betsy Hodges, Minneapolis
  • Ardell Brede, Rochester
  • Elizabeth Kautz, Burnsville
  • Tim Willson, Brooklyn Center
  • James Hovland, Edina
  • Nancy Tyra-Lukens, Eden Prairie

The conference runs Friday through Monday at the Hilton Union Square hotel.

Other topics on the agenda include: water conservation, transportation, municipal bonds and marketplace fairness, education, workforce development and apprenticeship programs for youth, technology and innovation, energy efficiency and community policing.
