Wes Kooistra is in line to get the top staff job at the Metropolitan Council.
Met Council Chair Adam Duininck says he wants Kooistra to be the agency’s regional administrator — replacing Pat Born, who will retire next month after holding the job since 2011.
Kooistra is now deputy regional administrator, a job he’s held since 2010. Before that, he was the Met Council’s CFO. He’s also worked for the state Department of Human Services in executive positions, including chief financial officer, deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner for mental and chemical health services.
The Met Council board will consider Kooistra’s appointment next week, so he can take over July 4.
