A funeral service for state Rep. David Dill will be held Saturday in International Falls.
Dill, of Crane Lake, died Aug. 8 after battling cancer. He was 60. He was in his 7th term in the Legislature, representing District 3A, which covers Koochiching and Cook counties and parts of St. Louis and Lake counties.
Dill is survived by his wife, Tucky, and a son, Drake.
The service on Saturday will be at 3 p.m., at the Backus Auditorium, 900 Fifth St., International Falls.
He’d been reelected in November with 65 percent of the vote in the safe DFL district in far northern Minnesota. At the Capitol he worked on issues such as mining, outdoor recreation, agriculture finance, the environment, natural resources and economic development, the Star Tribune said.
Gov. Mark Dayton is expected to call a special election to fill the seat.
