The Red Bull Crashed Ice event will return to St. Paul Feb. 26-27, with ice skaters again racing downhill on a platform built at the Cathedral. St. Paul will host the international finals this year.
This is the fifth time in St. Paul for the event, which has drawn big crowds each year.
The Crashed Ice folks announced their international schedule Monday and St. Paul officials were excited. Mayor Chris Coleman said:
St. Paul lights up during this truly amazing event, with more than 100,000 people flocking to downtown. The economic impact on local businesses is staggering, bringing in millions of dollars last year alone.
The mayor skated down the course last winter, with some success.
