GOP candidate Rand Paul to campaign in Minnesota

The senator from Kentucky will also appear in a debate in Wisconsin next Tuesday.

GOP presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky will be in Minnesota Monday to campaign. And the next day he’s scheduled to appear in a Wisconsin presidential debate.

While his campaign was still finalizing the Minnesota appearances, the Rochester Post-Bulletin says one of them will be a 4:30 p.m. rally Monday at the Eagles Club in Rochester.

Paul was the only presidential candidate to have a separate booth at the Minnesota State Fair this year.

Paul is also running a concurrent bid for re-election to his Kentucky Senate seat next year. There had been signs that Democrats were making gains in that state, leading to calls for Paul to abandon his presidential hopes and concentrate on his Senate run. But Tuesday’s election brought big GOP gains in Kentucky and may have settled some of those concerns, says the Washington Post.
