Jim Hall has been hired as the new chief information officer for Ramsey County.

He replaces Johanna Berg, who was promoted in August to deputy county manager of information and public records.

The county’s Information Services department has an annual operating budget of $20 million and 84 employees. He’ll also be in charge of the county’s information technology strategy.

Hall had been director of information technology at University of Minnesota Morris. Before that, he was senior manager of operations and infrastructure in the University’s Office of Information Technology.

He has a Master of Science degree in Scientific and Technical Communication from the University of Minnesota.
