Retired realtor Duane Sauke says he’ll run for the state House next year, hoping to replace DFL Rep. Kim Norton, who isn’t seeking reelection to a sixth term.
The Rochester Post Bulletin said Norton encouraged Sauke to run, and after assessing community opinion, he has decided to do it.
He told the paper: “I do not have an employer or an industry that I am somehow an active voice for. I am a voice that will be practical and pragmatic as we’re trying to solve problems.”
No Republicans have announced a run for the seat yet, but party leaders are meeting soon with potential candidates, the paper said.
