Ben Carson’s presidential campaign in Minnesota is being run by Ron Carey, who was chairman of the Minnesota Republican Party from 2005 to 2009.

Carey was recently hired by the campaign, writes Michael Brodkorb in the Star Tribune.

The story quotes Carey: “There is opportunism that Minnesota can be a very strong state for Ben Carson.” And he said Minnesotans have showed Carson an “outpouring of supporting, more so than I’ve ever seen for a candidate.”

He also said Carson is expected to visit the state before the March caucuses.
