Nonprofit, nonpartisan journalism. Supported by readers.

Dear Friends of MinnPost

Now seven months old, MinnPost is coming off a great week — important stories, growing traffic, and intense interest shown by people from all over the country who were in town for two major conferences: Journalism That Matters, and the National Conference on Media Reform which ended yesterday.
I was pleased to speak on three panels during the week, and I can tell you that media reformers are watching our Minnesota experiment with excitement. They see MinnPost as a possible model of sustainable high-quality regional journalism that can be replicated nationally if it works here.
To make it work here, we need more than just advertising revenue, even though advertising is growing nicely. And we need more than the generous donations that enabled MinnPost to get started. We need broad financial support from the community.
We need lots more individual donations in the form of annual memberships.
If you’re already one of our 875 MinnPost members, sincere thanks. Please email this note to your friends…tell them why YOU support MinnPost…and ask them to join.
If you’re not yet a member, but you like what we’re doing, here’s your chance to make a statement that you believe high-quality journalism is a community asset worth supporting. Help MinnPost make journalism history.
