Ways and Means asking Obama to stop IRS debt collectors

WebCPA, via On Wall Street, is reporting leaders of the House Ways and Means Committee have written President-elect Barack Obama urging him to end the IRS’s private debt collection service. Chairman Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., and Oversight Subcommittee Chairman John Lewis, D-Ga., are requesting an end to the practice of using private contractors to collect debts on behalf of the IRS.
