Yesterday NPR featured a story on how advertisers are playing the economic plunge.

They don’t mention the most striking ploy I’ve seen. Earlier this month, Hyundai rolled out a new campaign that offers to let you return your new car if you lose your job at any time in the year after purchase. And without damage to your credit rating, or so they say.

    I’ll give em’ this. With the downturn still on the down, I bet we’ll see some very characteristic marketing tactics showing up in all kinds of ways over this year. I wonder if they have had to pull the Hyundai under threat of lawsuits because we all know that is contrary to the way the “credit system” works, and it’s not fair to the rest of us. Just a thought.
