Napolitano gets ‘largely glowing reception’ in hearing

Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, Sen. Barack Obama’s choice to head the Department of Homeland Security, sailed through her Senate confirmation hearing today with a “largely glowing reception,” according to The Hill.

Sen. Joe Lieberman, chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, “told Napolitano that questions surrounding her operational counterterrorism experience were the only real critiques of her nomination, and she acknowledged it as a weak spot on her résumé,” the paper said.
