Obama to formally announce security chiefs Friday

President-elect Barack Obama will formally announce his choice of Leon Panetta for C.I.A. director and retired Adm. Dennis Blair as national intelligence director in a speech Friday. Former Pentagon budget official William Lynn has been tapped as the No. 2 official at the Pentagon and co-chair of Obama’s Pentagon transition team, Michele Flournoy has been selected for the No. 3 position.
