Klobuchar sticks up for banks that played by the rules

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In an opinion piece in The Washington Post today, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., sticks up for the banks that played by the rules, stressing that the administration needs to make clear that “there are plenty of banks that remain solid.”

The article, headlined, “Banks That Had a Brain,” plays around with references to “The Wizard of Oz”— a Depression-era movie about a schoolgirl’s travels in a magical land.

“Some banks chose not to go to the enchanting and, ultimately, illusory world of Oz,” wrote Klobuchar.

Now, if only Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner had a magic pair of ruby slippers for those that did.
