WASHINGTON, D.C. — Is Texas Rep. Ron Paul the new pied piper of the Republican Party?
Since the quirky GOPer made a run for the presidency last summer — getting treated more like a gnat than a sage by his own party — he has started to pick up more than a few faithful followers, according to The Washington Independent.

And, it turns out that Minnesota’s own Republican firebrand Rep. Michele Bachmann is one of the regulars at Paul’s weekly luncheons.

“She’s very open to studying,” Paul told the Independent. “In fact, she’s been working really hard to get me back to Minneapolis. She says, ‘You’ll get such a great reception there!’ ”
