Weekly wrap-up: Minnesota’s congressional delegation

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As Minnesota’s delegation heads into next week’s Memorial Day home stretch, here’s a look at what they’ve been up to this week.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar tried to tease out the problems of “No Child Left Behind” in Minnesota.

Rep. Tim Walz requested money for roads in his congressional district.

Rep. Erik Paulsen  touted nuclear power as “an environmentally friendly way to meet our energy needs” and pushed for Yucca Mountain in Nevada to be used as a permanent storage for nuclear waste.

Rep. Keith Ellison joined fellow DFLer Rep. Jim Oberstar in voting against President Obama’s war funding request that passed the House this week.

Rep. Michele Bachmann received the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award” from the National Taxpayers Union for the second year in a row.

Rep. Collin Peterson continued to fight for regulation authority over the emerging over-the-counter derivatives market.
